Beyond Access and IFLA Respond to the UN High Level Panel Report on the Post-2015 Development Agenda

In this publication, Beyond Access and IFLA respond to the United Nations High Level Panel report on the Post-2015 development agenda. The response highlights key elements of the report, including calls for improved access to information, government accountability, and opportunities to acquire skills to improve livelihoods. The panel's report presents a strong framework for incorporating participatory processes as part of the Post-2015 agenda. New technologies and new challenges related to poverty reduction, labor markets, and equitable access further change our understanding of what is needed to eradicate poverty and promote sustainable development. The report recognizes this shifting context, and provides a framework that reflects modern challenges. In their response, Beyond Access and IFLA also provide suggestions for the Post-2015 development agenda, recommending a focus on safe spaces, informal education, ICT skills, and technology infrastructure for good governance.
