Lubuto Library Project

The Lubuto Library Project, Inc. is an international development organization that cooperates with governments to create equitable education opportunities through libraries and related programs. Poverty reduction is a key aspect of organization’s mission. It works to enrich the lives of vulnerable and out-of-school children and youth in sub-Saharan Africa. Lubuto Library Project builds open-access libraries that serve as safe spaces where children can take part in programs that focus on reading, music, art, drama, computers, and other activities. Founded in 2005, the organization opened its first two libraries in Zambia in 2007 and 2010.
