Rio de Janeiro Culture Secretariat

The Secretariat's vision is to promote measures, plans, and programs to preserve, disseminate, and develop educational and cultural information throughout the state. It is responsible for the region's libraries and aims to help create new institutions maintained by the government and by private initiatives. The promotion of access to information in Niteroi is the result of federal initiatives like Green Book, a project that seeks to implement the Brazil Social Information Plan. According to the plan, most libraries in Brazil and its users will understand and manage multimedia information by 2016.

Nitpress
