The American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference and Exhibition is the world’s largest event for the library community. Bringing together more than 25,000 librarians, educators, authors, publishers, literacy experts, illustrators and the leading suppliers to the market, the Annual Conference offers a once-a-year opportunity to advance librarianship. This year, Beyond Access is pleased to announce that one of its partners, the Riecken Foundation was selected as one of four to receive the 2012 ALA  Presidential Citation for Innovative International Library Projects.

Beyond Access partner Bill Cartwright, President and CEO of the Riecken Foundation, attended the conference to receive this prestigious citation from ALA President, Molly Raphael, during the International Library Reception.

From the ALA Website:

“The ALA Presidential Citation for Innovative International Library Projects began as an ALA Presidential initiative of Dr. Loriene Roy, ALA President in 2007-2008. Recipients are selected by a committee of the International Relations Round Table (IRRT) through a nomination process.  For more information, please visit the IRRT website. IRRT is a Round Table of ALA with a mission to develop the interests of librarians in activities and problems in the field of international library relations.”
